T
he Essex Fox Hounds will open
the season on November 7, with
the annual Blessing of the Hounds, a religious and rural social tradition with origins dating back to the 8th century and
Saint Hubert, who bred and kept hounds
and is venerated in the Roman Catholic,
and the Anglican Church, as the patron
saint of dogs and hunters. The Blessing
of the Hounds will be hosted once again
at Andrew Allen9s Dunwalke Preserve, a
premiere commercial hunting preserve
and select private event venue in the
rolling green Somerset County countryside.
