To stir the pot.
Of decorum,
Our Bill is not.
As others glare, we look away,
Stifling laughs,
He makes our day.
This was to be
Another year
With Our Bill
Close, right here.
Until it came,
Grim Reaper9s scythe,
A specter of the afterlife.
Stealing Our Bill9s chosen life
Of carefree days and soulful nights,
Logs on the fire, burning bright,
A fluffy white dog in the firelight.
Living boldly, fearless, free,
Penning tales
With untamed glee.
Atop your Tractor in the Sky,
The fields below ponder why,
Must we go on without our friend,
Rams and crops, how do we tend,
Without your wisdom, quips and jest,
Gentle hands,
Now at rest.
We tried in vain, and held you tight,
Our hearts now ache for your lost fight.
Your lonely pew, a beam of light,
The void is filled with a spirit bright.
To have known you,
Dearest friend,
We9ll cherish you to our own end.
